From Lucy - DEAD IVY

Dead Ivy

This photo was taken in woodland (in Dorset) on 7th August 2009. The stems of the ivy had been cut to stop the plant from enveloping completely its host tree.

This photo - and more from Lucy Corrander - can be seen also at Pictures Just Pictures.

I don't understand yet how all these different blogs work, but I really like your pictures :)

Hello Bim.

I'm glad you like the pictures on The Third Column.

The Third Column has contributions from several blogs but if you are looking for photographs only (without the fiction from Mary or the aricles from Esther) you might like to go to Lucy's blog PICTURES JUST PICTURES - which shows one picture every day, with no text.

Many (but not all) of the photos there are also shown on The Third Column . . . but there will also be photos on The Third Column which are not shown on PICTURES JUST PICTURES.

We're finding our way with this, but, if you think of The Third Column as a generalised magazine and the other blogs which contribute as more like specialist publications . . . well, that's roughly it!
