From Lucy - THE SKY LAST SEPTEMBER for SKYWATCH
I posted this photo first on Pictures Just Pictures on 16th September 2009
Skywatchers may also like to take a look at the photo of the Portland Bill Lighthouse which I posted here a couple of days ago. I was planning to use it today but liked it so much, I couldn't wait. (No discipline round here!)

Fantastic shot of the blue sky.
And, welcome is such a blue sky after a grey summer.
The sky looks beautiful through the lovely branches in the foreground.
i love the image, it is framed beautifully and composed well.

Fantastic shot. The blue sky and the lovely tree is a nice composition.
Wow I love it. I love how close the tree branch and leaves look and how perfect the day is! Happy SkyWatch =)
Such a lovely sky!
I completely agree with you.
I'm glad you have the big view at top - because for some reason I'm particularly taken with the lichen on the branch....
Beautiful blue sky, but I was attracted to come and look by the large, slim view you have in your sidebar and think it looks particularly autumnal and lovely cropped that way!
Janice.
Hello Diane AZ and Photo Cache and Rune. I'm really pleased you liked the September sky and the branches. I find it an especially warming picture. Autumn has some nice browns - but its blues are brilliant too!
Mrs Nesbitt - I used to live in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and loved it - so Yorkshire was in the south from my point of view! (Going down to Teeside seemed quite a 'venture!) I left Newcastle in 1984 - and still miss it. Wonderful place, friendly people, lots to see and to do. (I think it's changed a lot in recent years. Dare I whisper the word 'trendy'?)
Hello Bettyl and BPOTW, J Bar and Rajesh, Amanda and Regina. B Squared too. This certainly is an international gathering!
J - the lichen is the thing which 'makes' this photo for me. I'm pleased you noticed it.
Hello Janice at Wildwood. It's interesting using the sidebar in this way. I don't choose which bit of the picture shows, it just happens. Sometimes it works - and sometimes it looks so odd I take the image away. I too like this version. (But, then, it highlights the lichen!)
